DDB Brussels welcomes Dieter De Ridder as their new Creative Director
The former CD of Air will take over the creative direction of the Brussels agency from 2018
As a creative at Duval Guillaume, Dieter De Ridder made a name for himself by creating the second most shared advertisement of all time. This was the “Push to add drama” spot for TNT. Dieter has more than 18 years of experience in the business, and apart from his time at Duval Guillaume, Dieter has worked at Lowe, McCann, Michael is Dead and Air.
Dieter is not only a talented creative but also has in depth television experience. Indeed, for 4 years, he worked for ‘De Filistijnen’. In 2014, he became Creative Director at Air. There he led the agency to the top by winning no less than 50 creative prizes and three major pitches (BMW, The National Lottery & Be Gold.)
Dieter De Ridder: At a time when consumers are rejecting advertising, skimming it or even blocking it altogether, the importance of original and coherent ideas is growing. DDB has very clearly shown its creative ambitions in recent years. In addition, not only do they have the best creative and the most inspiring brands, they also have strong strategic and commercial skills to deliver both creativity and efficiency.
Dieter De Ridder has won numerous national and international awards at festivals such as Cannes Lions, Eurobest, Clio Awards, New York Festivals and The One Show. CallBrussels for Visit.Brussels is just one example of Dieter's award-winning work.
Yves Bogaerts (CEO): DDB is known for solving business problems with new creative ideas and creating brand success. Dieter’s profile fits that perfectly. “From the first meeting, the chemistry was right. Dieter emphasizes strong creative ideas based on solid insights. He has this desire to progress and improve day by day. I am already looking forward to 2018 and surprising our clients with a refreshing new approach from him and the current talents of DDB. An approach that will surely bring even more results. With his extensive experience in the advertising industry, but also outside, Dieter fits perfectly with the new direction taken by DDB.
Dieter De Ridder will take over from Peter Ampe and Odin Saillé at the beginning of 2018.
