DDB takes home two Effie Awards for bpost bank and IKEA

At the 30th anniversary of the Effie Awards Belgium, DDB Brussels won a bronze Effie Award for bpost bank’s ‘Sh*t campaign’ as well as for ‘Make Room for Life’ of IKEA. These awards give us the credibility to conclude what we have always known: creativity is the most powerful force in business.

bpost bank - How a sh*t campaign launched our installment loans

Due the economic circumstances, bpost bank had to review its business model and entered the market of installment loans. The problem was that these loans have a bad reputation. Yet more and more people are in need of loans like these to make ends meet. As the bank which explains financial matters in a clear and understandable manner, bpost bank distanced itself from feel-good advertising and opted for a more realistic approach. And that approach paid off. Watch the entire case movie below.

IKEA – Make Room for Life

The home furnishing market was no longer growing. With more and more (online) players entering the market, IKEA knew something had to be done. Being the market leader, IKEA wanted to reconnect with its customers on a more emotional level. With ‘Make Room for Life’, IKEA therefore elevated the conversation from the room itself to how people live in that room. The campaign was a success. IKEA managed to stop the drastic decline in turnover and to return to sustainable growth. Check out the case movie.
